Is Vybz Kartel waiting in vain? No judgement 1 yr after Appeal Trial…

by July 24th, 2019

It’s just about one year, and incarcerated dancehall deejays Vybz Kartel and Shawn Storm continue to wait on a judgement following their appeal trial.

Both entertainers along with two other men appealed their murder convictions and life sentences in the Supreme Court.

Attorney-at-law Bert Samuels says they continue to wait patiently but hopes a judgement can be handed down by the end of the month.

In July last year, several attorneys appeared before the Court of Appeal, seeking to overturn the convictions and sentences.

The dancehall deejays and two other men were convicted of the killing of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams at a house in Havendale, St Andrew, on August 2011.

They were all given the mandatory life sentences with Vybz Kartel ordered to serve 35 years before he is eligible for parole; while Sean Storm will be eligible for parole in 25 years.
