by October 4th, 2018

The governing body for high-school sports (ISSA) has finalized a quota system for transfer players which is set to take effect in January 2019.

No school in football and cricket will be allowed more than three transfer student in their team at any one time.

In track and field, teams will be restricted to six for boys and eight for girls as only two athletes per class who transferred to the schools will be allowed to compete at the ISSA Boys & Girls Athletic Championship.

This will remain in effect for as long as the transferred student remains at the school.

The decision was made at a general meeting of the Inter Secondary School Sports Association on Wednesday.

The vote on the new dispensation was reportedly not a unanimous one.
