by September 26th, 2019

Noted sports medicine expert Dr. Paul Auden says it will be interesting to see how the world anti-doping agency (WADA) and the governing body of track and field (IAAF) views the ruling on Briana Williams’ case.

Separate from the warning she received yesterday, the Independent Anti-Doping Panel recommends that the 17 year old athlete undergoes another education programme on anti-doping in sport rules as soon as Jadco carries out same.

Auden says its now a case of waiting to see how both WADA and the IAAF will react.

The Independent Anti -doping panel (IADP) was referred to article 10.5.1.1 of the Anti-doping in sport rules ……..and this is relied on in its findings and in the circumstances of this case the athlete is reprimanded without any period of ineligibility, which means she can compete immediately.

The statement further added that “ The IADP finds that the athlete has established no significant fault or negligence as she was given tablets by her guardian and had no intention to cheat in her in-competition sprint event on the 21st June 2019
