Jamaica and Rwanda sign MOUs on political consultation and tourism

Jamaica and Rwanda have signed two Memoranda of Understanding in the areas of political consultation and tourism.

 

The MOUs are aimed at formalizing joint activities and engagement between the two countries.

 

Prime Minister Andrew Holness made the announcement during a joint address with Rwandan president Paul Kagame.

 

President Kagame is on a 3-day visit to Jamaica.

 

Speaking this morning, Prime Minister Holness said he and Kagame discussed the potential for investments in agriculture, special economic zones, manufacturing, and logistics.

 

He noted that commitments were made to further explore cooperation in culture, health, youth engagement, energy, and tourism, which could yield great benefits for both Jamaica and Rwanda.

 

 

Mr. Holness noted that the second memorandum concerns partnerships in the area of tourism.
