Jamaica clips USA 1- nil in friendly International in Washington, DC

A 60th minute strike from Shamar Nicholson powered Jamaica to a one nil win over the United States in their friendly international at Audi Field in Washington, DC on Wednesday night.

Last’s result was the first win for the reggae boys over the USA since 2015, which was in the Concacaf Gold Cup semi-final. The win also marks the third victory for Jamaica in 27 all-time meetings between both countries.

The game was the final competitive match-up in the senior reggae boyz’ preparation for the expanded Concacaf Gold Cup, which runs from June 15 to July 17.

The tournament will feature 16 teams up from 12 and Jamaica, ranked 56th on the FIFA ladder, will host a group c double-header at the national stadium on June 17, where they face Honduras in the late game, while El Salvador tackles curacao in the curtain raiser.
