Jamaica continues to see a high number of Covid-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths.

388 people are hospitalized with Covid-19, among them, 119 are moderately ill, 25 are severely ill and 5 critically ill.

Meantime, 8 more people have died from the virus pushing the death toll to 2,514.

The deceased are 4 males and 4 females, ranging in age from 42 to 82 years.

Four lived in St. Ann, 3 in St. Catherine and the other lived in Portland.

5 additional deaths are now under investigation.

Meantime, 99 more people have recovered pushing the tally to 66,850.

And 1,342 new cases were recorded yesterday (January 12).

The country’s case count is now 107,721.

Of the new cases, 746 are females and 594 are males.

They range in age from 32 days to 101 years.

All parishes recorded new cases.

Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the highest with 727, followed by St. Catherine with 144.

The positivity rate is 53.3 per cent.
