Jamaica continues to record declines in covid-19 cases, deaths, and hospitalizations. Twenty-seven covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, down from 53 on Sunday.

The country’s case count is now 91, 249.

Of the new cases, 16 are females and 11 are males. They range in age from 6 to 94 years.

All parishes except Kingston and St. Andrew, Clarendon, Hanover, Portland, St. Elizabeth, and St. Thomas recorded new cases.

St. James recorded the highest number of cases with 8, followed by St. Mary with 7. The positivity rate is 3.3%.

Meantime, an 82-year-old female from Manchester is the latest person to die from the virus. Her death was previously classified as being under investigation.

The covid death toll now stands at 2, 392.

Some 160 persons are hospitalized, 28 of them are moderately ill, 27 are severely ill and 11 are critically ill.

There are 103 new recoveries, pushing that tally to 62, 642.
