Jamaica continues to see spike in Covid-19 cases, with over 300 cases recorded yesterday

Jamaica continues to see a spike in Covid-19 cases.

The Health Ministry says 336 new cases were recorded yesterday (May 13), pushing the case count to 132,316.

Of the new cases, 208 are females, and 128 are males.

They range in age from 3 months to 87 years.

The positivity rate has increased to 30.3 per cent.

Meantime, the country’s Covid death toll is nearing 3,000.

This as 4 additional deaths have pushed the tally, to 2,999.

The 4 deaths occurred between January last year and January this year.

The deceased are 2 males and 2 females ranging in age from 68 to 87 years.

They are from Clarendon and St. James.

67 persons are hospitalised with the virus, while 117 more persons have recovered.
