Jamaica drawn alongside regional  giants Mexico in re-formatted Concacaf Men’s Under 20 Championship

Jamaica  has  been  drawn  alongside  regional  giants  Mexico  for  the  new  format  of  the  Concacaf  under  20  championships   which  will  be  played  at  the IMG  Academy in  Bradenton Florida  from  November  1  to   21.

The  new  format  which  removes   the  regional  central  America  and  Caribbean  qualifiers  guarantees  each  team  a  minimum  of  4  competitive  games.

The  draw  today  sees  Jamaica  down to  face  Mexico, Aruba, Nicaragua, Grenada  and  St  Maartin in  group B.

Group A; headed by  the  USA ….. includes  Trinidad  and  Tobago, Suriname, Puerto Rico  and  st  Vincent  and  the  grenadines.

Group C ‘ consists of Honduras, Cuba, Antigua and Barbuda, the Dominica republic, Belize and St Maarten.

In group D’  it  will  be  Panama, Canada, St  Kitts  and  Nevis, Guadeloupe, Dominica and  Martinique,

Group E’ features Costa Rica, Bermuda, Haiti, St  Lucia  and  Barbados….and  in  group  F’ the competitors are  El Salvador, Guatemala, curacao, Guyana  and  the  Cayman islands.

The  six  group winners  will  advance  to  the  qualification  stage  and  the top two teams of each group in the qualification stage qualify for the 2019 FIFA U-20 world cup in Poland , with the winners of each group also advancing to the final to decide the champions of the Concacaf under 20 championship

The Concacaf championships will also   determine the Concacaf teams to contest   the 2019 pan American games men’s football tournament in Lima, Peru.
