Prime Minister Andrew Holness says Jamaica is in a unique position to tap into what he calls the growing phenomenon of the medical tourism industry.

Mr. Holness says medical tourism is fast becoming a very lucrative market that will, over the next four years, reach US $47.

Delivering the keynote address at the official opening of the G-West Medical Centre in Fairview, Montego Bay on Thursday, Mr. Holness says he is pleased with the level of investment that went into the construction of the complex, arguing that it is a testament to the current business climate in Jamaica.

The Prime Minister says the G-West Medical Complex puts Jamaica in an ideal position, to capitalize on the offerings in medical tourism.

Mr. Holness expressed satisfaction with the variety of medical services offered by G-West, pointing to the provision of patient centered, personalized, comprehensive health care to residents of Montego Bay.
