Jamaica records 21 more Covid-19 related deaths and 214 new cases

Twenty-one more persons have died from Covid-19, pushing the death tally to 1, 964.

The deaths occurred between September 2 and October 4.

The deceased are from Trelawny, St. Elizabeth, Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine and St. Ann.

Meantime, 214 more persons have tested positive for Covid-19, pushing the country’s case count to 85, 475.

Of the new cases, 125 are females and 89 are males.

They range in age from 79 days to 92 years.

All parishes recorded new cases.

The positivity rate is 17.7 per cent.

460 persons are hospitalised, among them 118 are moderately ill, 65 severely ill and 38 critically ill.

130 more persons have recovered, pushing that tally to 53,790.

There are 29,132 active cases.
