Jamaica records 393 new COVID-19 cases, positivity rate of 28.8% and 7 more COVID-19 deaths

393 more people have tested positive for COVID-19, pushing the country’s case count to 134,297.

 

Of the new cases, 254 are females and 139 are males.

 

They range in age from 33 days to 94 years.

 

St. Catherine had the highest number of cases with 88, followed by Kingston and St. Andrew with 78.

 

The positivity rate is 28.8%.

 

Meantime, 7 more people have died from the virus, pushing the country’s death toll to 3028.

 

Three of the deaths were in April, August and September last year.

 

The other four occurred in January and May this year.

 

COVID-19 hospitalizations have increased to 94.

 

There are 148 more recoveries, pushing that tally to 85,927.
