Jamaica records 4 additional Covid-19 related deaths and 48 new cases

Four more persons have died from Covid-19, pushing the country’s death toll to 2,363.

The deceased are 4 females with ages ranging from 82 to 96 years.

They lived in St. Thomas, St. Elizabeth and St. Mary.

The Health Ministry says one other death is under investigation.

Meantime, 48 more persons have tested positive for the virus, pushing the case count to 90,855.

Of the new cases, 25 are females and 23 are males. They range in age from 3 months to 97 years.

All parishes except Manchester, St. Elizabeth and St. Thomas recorded new cases.

The positivity rate is 7.4 per cent.

176 more persons are hospitalized, 15 of them are severely ill, 8 critically ill and 35 moderately ill.

Meantime, 129 more persons have recovered, pushing total recoveries to 61,965.
