Jamaica records 4 more COVID-19 deaths and 65 new cases

Four more persons have died from COVID-19 increasing deaths from the illness to 2, 406.

 

The deceased are an 85-year-old female from St. Elizabeth, a 64-year-old male from St. Catherine, and an 85-year-old female and a 61-year-old male both from Kingston and St. Andrew.

 

Meantime, 65 new cases have pushed the country’s case count to 91,369.

 

The 37 females and 28 males are aged 4 days to 84 years.

 

St. Ann has the highest number of cases with 18, followed by Kingston and St. Andrew with 16 and St. Catherine with 12. Westmoreland and Portland had no new case.

 

The positivity rate is 6.2%.

 

Forty-five more persons have recovered. 130 persons are hospitalized. Thirty are moderately ill, 15 are severely ill and 8 patients are critically ill.
