Jamaica records 433 new COVID-19 cases; positivity rate of 34% and 5 more COVID-19 deaths

Jamaica continues to see an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases recorded.

This, as 433 more people tested positive for the virus.

The case count now stands at 135,093.

Of the new cases, 246 are females and 187 are males.

They range in age from 5 days to 100 years.

Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the highest number of cases with 97 and St. Catherine followed with 84.

The positivity rate is 34 per cent.

Meantime 5 more people have died from the virus, pushing the death tally to 3,037.

The deaths occurred in March, May and September last year.

The Health and Wellness Ministry also reports one coincidental death.

COVID-19 hospitalizations increased to 95.

However, 118 more persons have recovered from the virus, pushing total recoveries to 86,163.
