Jamaica records 50 new Covid-19 cases and 2 additional deaths

Fifty more persons have tested positive for Covid-19, pushing the country’s case count to 90,905.

The Health Ministry reports, that of the new cases, 25 are females and 25 are males.

They range in age from 2 to 88 years.

All parishes except Portland, St. Ann, St. Elizabeth and Trelawny recorded new cases.

The positivity rate is 5.3 per cent.

Meantime, a 70-year-old male from St. Mary and a 94-year-old female from St. Catherine are the latest persons to die from the virus.

Their deaths bring the country’s death tally to 2,365.

182 more persons are hospitalised, 25 of them are moderately ill, 19 are severely ill and 8 are critically ill.

103 more persons have recovered from the virus, pushing total recoveries to 62,068.
