Jamaica records 6 additional Covid-19 related deaths and 73 new cases

Six more persons have died from Covid-19, pushing the country’s death toll to 2,424.

The Health and Wellness Ministry says, the deaths occurred between December 1 and 9.

The deceased are 3 females and 3 males.

They range in age from 52 to 95 years.

They lived in Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine, St. Ann and St. Elizabeth.

124 persons are hospitalized, 29 of them are moderately ill, 8 are severely ill and 5 are critically ill.

Meantime, Jamaica recorded 73 new Covid-19 cases yesterday (December 10), bringing the case count to 91,725.

Of the new cases, 50 are females and 23 are males. They range in age from 81 days to 87 years.

The positivity rate is 7 per cent.

Meantime, 44 more persons have recovered from the virus, pushing total recoveries to 63,402.
