Jamaica has recorded 1 new Mpox case.

The case which was recorded last week, was detected in a female from St. Catherine.

The Health Ministry says it was locally transmitted.

It is the first confirmed case in the country since January.

Since the outbreak of the virus last year, there have been 19 confirmed cases, however, only 1 remains active.
