Jamaica records over 100 new Covid-19 cases for the first time in weeks

For the first time in weeks Jamaica has recorded more than 100 new Covid-19 cases.

The Health Ministry is reporting that 115 new cases were recorded yesterday (April 27), pushing the overall tally to 129,862.

Of the new cases, 64 are females and 51 are males.

They range in age from 8 months to 90 years.

Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the highest number of cases with 32 and St. James followed with 31.

The positivity rate is 11.6 per cent.

Meantime, an 87-year-old male from Kingston is the latest person to die from the virus, pushing the death toll to 2,955.

22 people are hospitalised with the virus.

Meantime, 56 more people have recovered, pushing total recoveries to 83,256.
