Jamaica Tallawahs secures third straight victory after defeating Patriots by 47 runs

Jamaica Tallawahs secured their third straight victory in the 2018 CPL/T20 cricket competition season after defeating Chris Gayle’s St Kitts & Nevis Patriots by 47 runs at Sabina Park last night.

Sent to bat the Jamaica Tallawahs scored 178 for four off their allotted 20 overs, led by opener Ross Taylor who cracked an unbeaten 51 off 31 deliveries.

Kennar Lewis cracked 49 from 24 balls and Glenn Philips supported with 41 .

Sandeep Lamichhane was the most successful bowler for the Patriots bagging 2 for 21 while Carlos Brathwaite and ben cutting picked up a wicket each.

Set a victory target of 179, the patriots were then restricted to 131 for nine from their allotted 20 overs.

In the run chase only two batsmen – Gayle 24 runs from 25 balls and Mahmudullah 22 from 15 managed to get over 20 runs.

Bowling for the Tallawahs Krishmar Santokie, Adam Zampa and Imad Wasim bagged two wickets apiece.

The Tallawahs meanwhile are top of the six-team table with maximum six points, two ahead of second-place Guyana amazon warriors

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, drops to fifth in the standings on two points, after suffering their second defeat from three matches.
