Jamaica to tackle Curacao, El -Salvador and Honduras in group c of the 2019 expanded Concacaf Gold Cup

Jamaica will tackle Curacao, El -Salvador and the already known opponent Honduras in group c of the 2019 expanded Concacaf Gold Cup football tournament.

This was confirmed at today’s draw for the group stages of the competition in California.

The opening games of the group to be held at the national stadium in Kingston on June 17 will see the reggae boys facing Honduras in the second game of a double header.

This after Curacao face off with El Salvador in the curtain raiser.

The teams then move to the BBVA Compas Stadium in Houston on June 21 where Jamaica will face El Salvador before Honduras plays Curacao.

The final group c games will be at the bank of California stadium in Los Angeles on June 25 where Jamaica tackles Curacao before Honduras meets El Salvador.

Four groups of four teams will contest the June 15 to July 7 tournament where only the top two from each group will advance to the quarterfinal.

Meanwhile defending champions – the united states have been drawn in group d’ with panama. Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago.

Group a’ will feature 2015 champions Mexico, along with Canada, Martinique and Cuba and group b’ consists of Haiti, Nicaragua, Bermuda and Costa Rica

There will be no third place playoff this year.

The competition which have been expanded from 12 to 16 teams will be played outside of the USA for the first time, with matches in Jamaica and Costa Rica.
