Jamaica welcomes 4 millionth visitor

Jamaica received its 4 millionth visitor, today (Dec 15).

On vacation for the Christmas season, US resident Jill Bells, who was recorded as the 4 millionth visitor, was accompanied by her husband.

They arrived in the island approximately 12:30 pm at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St. James.

The couple was welcomed by Tourism Minister, Ed Bartlett, who was accompanied by president of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association, Omar Robinson, and other key tourism players.

Speaking at a press conference to welcome the country’s 4 millionth visitor, Mr. Bartlett told reporters, that he was delighted to be a part of such a historic occasion.

Meantime, the visitor Jill Bell, says her decision to make Jamaica her home away from home, is as a result of the love shown to her every time she visits the island.

The Wisconsin couple received gifts to include a one week complimentary vacation, courtesy of Sandals Resorts International.
