The Jamaican nurse who was the first person in the United States to receive the COVID-19 vaccine was presented with the Medal of Freedom by President Joe Biden this afternoon (July 7).
Sandra Lindsay was thrust into the international spotlight when she was vaccinated on live television on December 14, 2020.
She is the second Jamaican-American to receive the prestigious award.
The first was General Colin Powell.
