Jamaica’s Under 20 Football squad leave the island today for Concacaf  Under 20 Championships

The  local  members  of  Jamaica’s  national  Under  20  Football  squad  are  leaving  the  island  today   for  Florida  to  contest  the  newly designed  Concacaf  under 20  championships  at  the IMG  Academy  in  Florida.

Jeadine White,  Javain  Brown,  Kaheem  Parris and  Shandel senior are  the  players  in the  squad  who  have  played  for  the  Senior  Reggae Boys.

They will have their  first  game  on  Friday  against   Grenada   at  7.30 pm

A record number of 34 teams are down to  contest  the tournament

This year’s redesigned competition will have the six group winners advancing   to the qualification stage, where they will be divided into two groups of three teams.

The two group winners plus the second-place finishers of the qualification stage will qualify for the FIFA Under-20 world cup in Poland next year………… additionally, the two group winners will advance to the tournament final to determine the regional champion.
