Janeek Brown named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the week

Former Wolmer’s girls stand out sprint hurdler Janeek Brown now running for the University of Arkansas, has been named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the week.

This following her outstanding performance in the 60-meter hurdles at the Razorbacks’ regular season finale last weekend.

The fastest qualifier in the preliminaries of the 60meters hurdles, with a time of 8.20 seconds, brown raced to a personal best of 8.15seconds in the finals to win the event.

She is currently ranks 14th in the NCAA’s and is the second-fastest freshman in the United States in the 60 meters hurdles. Brown’s performance also checks in at number 4 on Arkansas’ all-time bests list.

With the indoor regular season behind them the razorbacks will shift their focus to postseason competition, looking to pick up the program’s 12th-consecutive southeastern conference title next weekend in college station, Texas at the 2018 South Eastern Conference Indoor Track and Field championships.
