The Jamaica Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation in kick-starting its preparations for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing has registered four athletes in a three- week programme at an IBSF school in Lake Placid, New York.
The quartet comprises former sprinter Carrie Russell, Shanwayne Stephens and Nimroy Turgott – for Bobsleigh – and Audra Segree for Skeleton.
Segree and Russell were members of the two-man bobsleigh team at Pyeongchang 2018 which created history as the first Jamaican female team to qualify and participate in a Winter Olympic Games. The team finished in 19th place on its debut with Segree serving as reserve behind Russell and pilot Jazmine Fenlator- Victorian.
Turgott and Stephens were a part of the four-man team which missed out on securing a spot in South Korea by one spot.
The athletes will be accompanied by coaches Dudley Stokes and Jo Manning.
