JCF and Turks and Caicos police discuss ways to address crime being committed in that country by Jamaican gangs

by October 5th, 2022

Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson says discussions are ongoing between himself and the Police High Command for the Turks and Caicos Islands, on how to address crime and violence being committed in that country, allegedly by Jamaican gangs.

This, after Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands, Nigel Dakin, told the House of Representatives on Monday that there has been a dramatic shift in the country’s security situation, due to Jamaican gangs and serious trans-national crime.

He noted that support has been sought from the Bahamian and Jamaican authorities to tackle the issues.

Responding to questions during the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s monthly press briefing yesterday (October 4), Commissioner Anderson said he is in talks with the Turks and Caicos Police about the matter.
