JCF report says crime continues to decline compared to last year

Jamaica continues to see a decline in murders, compared to last year.

According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force, 138 murders were recorded, as at Sunday February 12, 50 fewer, than the 188, recorded in the same period, last year.

This represents a 26.6 percent decline in murders.

All parishes except Trelawny and Portland recorded murders.

Kingston western police division recorded the highest with 20, followed by St. James with 16.

Meantime, there were also declines in cases of rape, robberies and break-ins.

Cases of rape declined by 39, from 69 to 30, robberies went down by 47, from 119 to 72.

While, break-ins decreased from 98 to 102.
