Outgoing team captain of Jamaica College track & field J’voughnn Blake, has secured a prestigious Ivy league scholarship at Dartmouth University in New Hampshire, United States.

The ISSA Champs class one middle distance double champion is set to pursue a Degree in Micro Biology.

The 19-year-old Blake gained 13 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) subjects — all with grade one pass marks — and recently he picked up five grade ones in the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE).

He ran a scintillating 1:47.62 minutes at the recent Carifta trials before he equalled the champs record of 1:48.58 set last year by Chevonne Hall of Edwin Allen High.

He also secured victory in the 800 meters at the Carifta games that were held in Jamaica before he anchored Jamaica College in his final race for the school to victory in the 4×800 meters at the Penn Relays two weeks ago.
