The Jamaica Defence Force has called-out the National Reserve in light of the political developments, coming out of the recount of ballots from the general election.
In a statement this morning, the J-D-F says the special call-out is for a week, starting today to March 7.
The People’s National Party regained a seat during the recount at the weekend, resulting in the J-L-P holding thirty-two seats but still holding the majority, to the P-N-P’s thirty-one.
Counting is continuing amidst mounting anxiety in a number of constituencies, and the electoral office says it expects to complete the process today.
Civil military co-operation and media affairs officer, Major Basil Jarrett, says the J-D-F will continue to support the police and electoral agencies in providing a safe environment.
