A Jamaica Defence Force soldier is suspected to have drowned in a swimming pool at a recreational facility in Ingleside, Mandeville, Manchester, earlier this afternoon.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld, pending notification of relatives.

Reports are that about 1: 30 p.m. staff at the facility became concerned when the man was not seen for a long time, and following checks, he was found submerged in the pool.

The police and fire brigade were summoned, and the body removed from the water.

Other members of the JDF were observed at the facility conducting investigations along with the police.
