JGRA calls on Govt to audit Rubis

by December 28th, 2018

The Jamaica Gasolene Retailers Association (JGRA) is calling on the government to intervene and carryout an audit into the operations of petroleum company, Rubis Energy Jamaica Limited.

This following what the association says was the unfair and callous treatment meted out to one of its members during a termination meeting.

JGRA President Gregory Chung says based on what was communicated to the member, he was allegedly terminated because he did not defend Rubis in what is now known as the “bad gas saga”.

Mr. Chung says the JGRA welcomes foreign direct investments, however, it should not be at the expense of exploiting Jamaicans.

He says dealers and their families have been displaced and workers have lost their jobs as a result of the action.

The JGRA President says the members are restive and he cannot rule out any action.
