JHTA says Jamaica will need to work hard to lower Covid cases to mitigate fall out from CDC’S level 4 travel designation

by September 8th, 2021

President of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist association, JHTA, Clifton Reader says Jamaica will need to work hard to bring down its Covid cases to mitigate fall out from the recent level 4 travel designation by the CDC.

Speaking in an interview with Irie FM News, Mr. Reader noted that the designation will affect the country, but the impact largely depends on the country’s response.

He emphasized that the corridors are efficiently monitored by agencies of the Ministries of Health and Wellness and Tourism.

Mr. Reader said an increase in the vaccination level within the corridor should help to have Jamaica’s status revised on the CDC list.
