The management of the Jisco Alpart bauxite company in St. Elizabeth will be working to provide more than 1,200 persons with titles for their lands, during the company’s closure.

The land titles for persons who were relocated by the company, have been outstanding for several years, in some cases.

The issue of the outstanding titles was one of several raised at a meeting with Jisco Alpart, members of the government, and other stakeholders, yesterday.

Minister with responsibility for the environment, Daryl Vaz notes that the company has given a commitment to hiring two attorneys to address the issue during its expected two year closure.
