JLP candidates vow to win constituencies in next general election

by October 28th, 2018

Ahead of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) annual conference slated to take place next month, party members met to discuss proposed and on-going developments, as well as plans for the upcoming election, during today’s Area Council 2 delegates’ conference in St. Mary.

The conference, which was held at the Oracabessa High School, saw scores of party supporters in attendance, clad in their traditional green.

Addressing the supporters, JLP caretakers for divisions within St. Catherine, St. Thomas and St. Mary assured that they will secure the respective constituencies when the time arises.

The JLP’s candidate for North West St. Catherine Newton Amos, sought to assure that he will be successful in the next general election.

He criticised sitting Member of Parliament, the PNP’s Robert Pickersgill, describing his performance in the constituency as “being lazy”.

And, JLP candidate for Eastern St. Catherine Dwight Peccoo also believes that he will be victorious in his bid for the constituency, which has been a PNP stronghold for years.

He lost in the previous election to the PNP’s Denise Daley.
