by September 6th, 2019

The Jamaica Medical Doctors Association (JMDA) has activated its emergency response mechanism to assist their colleagues in the Bahamas, following the passage of Hurricane Dorian.

JMDA President Dr. Elon Thompson said contact has been made with the Bahamas doctors union and a list of well need items has been submitted.

The list has been circulated among JMDA members, who were urged to bring in supplies between today and tomorrow.

He said medical volunteers will be needed in the Bahamas, and the JMDA stands ready to respond.

He explained that in the initial phase, the Health Ministry in Jamaica would send JDF doctors to the Bahamas.
