England have left Barbadian-born pace bowler Jofra Archer out of their team for the first ashes test against Australia at Edgbaston tomorrow. 

Archer, who is yet to make his test debut, was England’s leading wicket-taker in their successful world cup campaign.

The selectors however……opted to go with Chris Woakes on his home ground after his six wicket haul in a win over Ireland last week.

James Anderson who missed the win over Ireland with a calf injury, is fit to play and will lead an attack that also includes Stuart broad, off-spinner Moeen Ali and all-rounder Ben Stokes.
