by October 7th, 2021

The Jamaica Teachers’ Association, JTA, says it is very concerned that there seems to be an attack on the nation’s teachers.

Yesterday (October 6), while members of the education sector and police searched for missing St. Ann teacher Ruchelle Williams, reports emerged that a St. Elizabeth teacher had her throat slashed on Tuesday evening (October 5).

Speaking with Irie Fm news, JTA President, Winston Smith noted that teachers are going missing, being physically hurt or killed.

Mr. Smith is appealing to persons to desist from harming teachers and to give them the respect they deserve.
