by October 11th, 2019

Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, and Gyptian have made it to the list of the songs which defined the last decade, ‘The 200 Best Songs of the 2010s.’

In the list compiled by popular American music magazine Pitchfork, Gyptian makes the Top 50, at 49, with his 2010 hit single ‘Hold Yuh.’ Popcaan comes in at 100, as a feature on Jamie Foxx’s 2015 single ‘I Know There’s Gonna Be Good Times.’ Popcaan then gets a second feature, as his breakout feature from the Jamaican banger ‘Clarks’ with Vybz Kartel, makes it on the list at 161 of 200.

Popcaan also made it to the list of The 200 Best Albums of the 2010s, with his debut album ‘Where We Come From’ ranked at 172 of 200.

Pitchfork’s Best of the 2010s list was put together, after nearly six months of multiple rounds of voting, around the cultural significance of a piece of music, the complexity of its craftsmanship, and the feelings it evokes.
