Khadija “bunny” Shaw called up to the Reggae girlz squad for Olympic qualifying tournament

by September 19th, 2019

Star striker Khadija “bunny” Shaw has been called up to the Reggae girlz squad for the Caribbean leg of the preliminary round of the upcoming Olympic qualifying tournament.

The move apparently brings to an end a stand-off between the JFF and a number of players including Shaw, over unpaid wages.

Also confirmed for the squad are 15 players who were part of preparations for or were in the 23-member squad for the 2019 FIFA Women’s world cup in France.

The full squad of 20 comprises the likes of team captain and defender Konya Plummer and Deneisha Blackwood and will include a new call up from the local women’s premier league.

The reggae girlz who have been drawn in group ‘b’ will begin their campaign in the preliminary round of the Olympic qualifiers against Cuba on September 30 at the National Stadium.

Match time is 6:30.

It will be preceded by the contest between Barbados and St. Lucia at 4.
