Khamal ‘the hit man’ Russell successfully defends NABF Junior Middleweight title

Jamaica’s Khamal ‘the hit man’ Russell successfully defended his north American boxing federation (NABF) Junior Middleweight title after beating the Mexican challenger Jorge Michie Munoz by technical knockout inside the National Arena last night .

Russell first took down the Mexican midway the second round, but Munoz was quick to his feet.  Russell spotted that his opponent was in trouble and seized control by knocking down Munoz again with a series of jabs and upper cuts, which sent him flying to the canvas, before the referee stopped the fight.

With the win Russell improved his win record to 13 win while the 36 year old Munoz suffered his 8th loss of his career.

Promoter Robson Frank of uprising promotions says he was satisfied with Russell’s performance and the support from the Jamaican fans on the night.

Earlier Jamaican Sakima mr’ smooth’ Russell defeated Edmond Declou of Guyana after knocking him out in the sixth round.

Also on the under-card Jamaican Tetse Davis was on the losing end in the junior middleweight contest after being knocked out  2 minutes and 29 seconds in the fourth round of his bout against Christopher Pearson.

Another Jamaican on the losing end was Rudolph Hedge who lost his fight against Lawrence newton on points, …as the judges scored it 59-55, 59-55, 58-56 for newton.

The lone female bout over six rounds on the under-card was won by the  Italian Frederica “mad scientist “Bianca  who defeated the  Guyanese    Rewinna “the  baby face assasin” David  by TKO. Bianca scored the knock out win 57 seconds into the second round.
