Vendors who ply their wares in the corporate area are being encouraged to re-establish their association, so they can lobby the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC), to have their concerns addressed.

The advice came from minority leader of the opposition People’s National Party caucus in the KSAMC, Andrew Swaby.

During a meeting, some vendors highlighted issues such as the lack of designated vending spaces, limited sanitary conveniences, and the need for proper lighting.

In response, Mr. Swaby cited the former higglers association, which in years past, was able to speak on the behalf of vendors, and pointed out the need to revive it.
