Reggae singers Koffee and Lila Ike are at the center of a special ‘Black Sounds Beautiful’ campaign, by American record label, RCA records.

A ‘Black Music Month 2020’ playlist featuring the songs ‘Toast’ and ‘W’ by Koffee, and ‘Forget Me’ by Lila Ike, has been curated and is currently available for streaming across all digital streaming platforms.

Koffee’s ‘Toast’ was also used as one of the soundtracks for the introductory promo of the campaign on RCA’s YouTube channel.

As part of the ‘Black Sounds Beautiful’ campaign, in describing a monumental black music moment that stood out for her, Lila Ike on Tuesday said, Koffee’s Grammy win, as the youngest solo act, and first female from Jamaica to cop the Reggae Grammy, is her monumental black music moment.

Similarly, Koffee who shared her monumental black music moment last week said the announcement of her nomination for a Grammy, and eventually winning the award, stands out as her black music moment.

Launched last week, ‘Black Sounds Beautiful’, is a multimedia campaign in celebration of what RCA has dubbed ‘Black Music Month 2020.’

For the duration of the campaign throughout the month of June, RCA will highlight music from artistes that move the culture, and will also feature commentaries on Instagram, concert footage, and music videos on YouTube.
