Koffee receives Prime Minister’s Youth Award for excellence

2019 continues to be a winning year for Grammy-nominated reggae sensation Koffee.

On Saturday, the 19-year-old fast rising reggae star, received the prestigious Prime Minister’s Youth Award for Excellence, in the category of Arts and Culture.

Under the theme ‘The Jamaican Youth are LIT’ they lead, inspire and transform Jamaica and our world, Koffee born Mikayla Simpson, emerged as winner, among eleven nominees in the arts and culture category. Other winners in the category included popular YouTube blogger, and digital content creator, Russhaine ‘Dutty Berry’ Berry.

From a shortlist of 87 young people aged 15-29, across 12 categories, 48 young people received awards, in a ceremony which saw performances by former awardee reggae singer Romain Virgo, and gospel entertainer Rondell Positive.
