Labour Minister Karl Samuda has explained that his statement yesterday (May 10), about restoration of water supply was due to him being given inaccurate information.
This in the wake of criticism that he misled the county, as to the status of discussions between his ministry, and the trade unions representing national water commission workers who took industrial action yesterday, resulting in island wide water lock off.
At the start of today‘s (May 11) sitting of Parliament Mr. Samuda apologized for the error.
Meantime, Opposition Leader Mark Golding urged the minister to in future ensure that his updates to the nation on critical matters are accurate.
