Hundreds of kilograms of cocaine were seized at the Port of Kingston, this morning (January 14).

The illicit drug was seized during an operation by the police’s Narcotics Division, the Jamaica Defence Force, and the Jamaica Customs Agency.

The police say the drug was found at about 3am on a cargo vessel which came from South America.

The drug which was still being weighed at news time is believed to be valued at several billion Jamaican dollars.
