by March 16th, 2021

A massive final effort is being made by football stakeholders for the resumption of local top tier football the Jamaica Premier League.

The project which is in the developmental stage is to be pitched to the government with a possible start date of April.

Football in the island has faced stagnation since last March when the 2020/2021 National Premier League ended prematurely due to the of the Coronavirus outbreak.

JFF Technical Committee Chairman Rudolph Speid speaking on Irie Fm’s Whats The Score show on Monday night says if this effort does not come through it will be curtains for the rest of the season.

Speid outlines that the new proposal could include a season of one and a half rounds with the teams making it to the championship match playing a maximum of 20 games.
