Lazio set to terminate Ravel Morrison’s contract

by October 19th, 2018

Former Manchester United prodigy Ravel Morrison is once again heading for the football scrapheap as his Italian club Lazio is reportedly poised to terminate his contract.

Morrison who is expected to feature in the Reggae Boys squad in the Concacaf Nations League, has had spells at West Ham United, Birmingham and Queens Park Rangers.

He has been frozen out of the Lazio squad this season and is yet to feature in a single match so far having been on the clubs’ books since 2015. He was sent out on loan to Mexican side Atlas last season but has since returned to Rome.

Lazio looks set to be the latest club to give up on Morrison who came through the Manchester United Academy, but kept getting in trouble, with manager Sir Alex Ferguson finally losing patience and deciding to sell the then 18-year-old to West Ham for £650,000 in 2012.

Morrison was once seen as one of United’s most promising young players along with Paul Pogba and won the FA Youth Cup alongside current United star Jesse Lingard

The 25-year-old could be in the Jamaican squad when the Reggae Boys take on Suriname in the Nations League clash at the Catherine Hall Stadium in Montego Bay on November 17.
