LeBron James & Stephen Curry voted NBA All-Star Game captains

by January 19th, 2018

LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors will serve as captains of their respective conferences at the upcoming NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles after they had the highest returns in the just completed All-Star voting process.

Joining James as starters for the Eastern Conference are Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers), Kyrie Irving (Boston Celtics) and Demar DeRozan (Toronto Raptors).

In the West, the starting 5 is completed by James Harden (Houston Rockets), Kevin Durant (Golden State Warriors) and the New Orleans Pelicans duo Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins.

Starters were determined by a vote from fans, players and a select group of media. They were announced by the NBA on Thursday. The game will be played February 18 in Los Angeles.

James and Curry, under the new format which abandons the traditional East vs West match-up, will select their teams — without regard for conference affiliation — from the pool of starters and reserves.

The reserves will be selected by the head coaches and announced on Tuesday while the full team rosters will be announced January 25.

James’ and Curry’s first four selections must come from the pool of starters. James will select ahead of Curry because he finished with the highest overall voting total.
