Mining Minister Robert Montague has announced that entities can resume normal business relations with Windalco, due to the lifting of sanctions, initially imposed by the United States against the parent company US Rusal.

Concern had been raised about the status of workers due to challenges being experienced at the Windolco plant in Ewarton, as a consequence of the sanctions.

Montgaue gave an update on the matter to parliament today (Feb 5).

He added that UC Rusal pledged to be transparent in relation to the ongoing audit.
